Not all makeovers are drastic. Some clients want a subtle change. Carlie wanted less maintenance with coloring and to be able to go longer between appointments. Carlie’s old hair color had grown out and she had a visible line of demarcation. For the first step, I pre-lightened in zone 1 with 20 volume and Redken flashlift. Zones 2 and 3 needed to be brightened as well, so flashlift and 10 volume developer was used on some of those areas.  Once she was lifted, I shampooed with Redken extreme. For step two, I completely dried her hair and followed with ShadesEQ to tone. The result still gave her dimension with natural highlights.
